From Vaults to Vessels: Our First Look at Farm Truck’s New Audubon Home

Since opening their doors in Medford back in June 2022, Farm Truck Brewing has quickly become a cornerstone of the South Jersey craft scene. Known for their "down-to-earth vibes" and a "modern barn" aesthetic that features reclaimed wood and lush greenery. Now, they are bringing that same community-first energy to Camden County with a highly anticipated second location in Audubon.

We recently had the chance to step inside the new space at 100 W. Merchant Street during one of their innovative pop-up events, and we walked away seriously impressed by the transformation.

A New Life for a Landmark Space

Taking over the iconic former bank building—previously home to Red White and Brew—Farm Truck is leaning into the venue’s "cavernous" two-story architecture. While the building's bones are historic, the team has been busy with a massive interior refresh. One of the most striking changes we noticed was the new, significantly larger bar that now wraps around the side of the main room, creating a much more fluid flow for thirsty guests.

They’ve also made the bold move of removing the old refrigerator units to install a dedicated performance stage—some standout improvements to the building that caught our eye at Pint Perspective.

  • Bigger Bar made out of a concrete wood mixture.

  • Reinvention of the cold box space with the repurposing of the old bank vault.

  • Two Historic wood beams are used for hanging lights over the bar top.

  • A transformed second floor that has its own bar and bathroom for overflow or private events.

The Innovation of the Pop-Up

What makes these Audubon pop-ups so clever is how the team is navigating New Jersey’s strict brewing laws. While they wait for the full build-out, they are utilizing off-site permits (the same ones used for beer festivals) to host "preview" days. They bring their portable, refrigerated tap system from Medford to serve.

Some of the Brews we sampled

  • Farm Truck Lite - 4.2% Pilsner

  • Farm Truck Summer - 4.9% Kolsch

  • Qué Paso - 5% Mexican Lager

  • Forging Ahead: Nectaron - 5.5% Pale Ale

  • Love the one you’re wit - 5.8% Wheat Beer

  • Burritos out Back - 6.6% Hazy IPA

  • Truckin’ Lucky - 4.5% Irish Stout

Looking Ahead: The Loft and Beyond

The project doesn't stop at the ground floor. The team is currently remodeling the massive second-floor mezzanine, which was previously closed to the public. Once finished, this loft space—which is as large as some standalone microbreweries—will offer a second bar and private event seating with a perfect view of the stage below.

On the production side, the strategy is equally ambitious: Medford is receiving a new 20bbl brewing system, allowing their original equipment to be moved to Audubon. This will let Head Brewer Kenny recreate the Farm Truck classics on-site while experimenting with new brews exclusive to the Audubon taps.

Farm Truck Audubon will be the new "central hub" Merchant Street has been waiting for. Whether you’re a Medford regular or a Camden County local, you’ll want to keep a close eye on their socials for the next pop-up date—this is a "spectacular" next chapter you don't want to miss.
