Soaking It In: Our Trip to Florida's First Beer Spa
Every once in a while, a beer experience comes along that doesn't fit into any of our usual categories. This is one of those times. We recently made our way to Orlando Beer Spa, tucked into a small strip mall on International Drive near SeaWorld and Discovery Cove — and as the first authentic beer spa in Florida, it's a genuine blend of European wellness tradition and the local craft beer scene we love writing about. The Core Experience: The Hop-Soak
The centerpiece of the visit is a 60-minute session in your own private spa suite, built around a soak in a deep wooden tub. Let's clear up the obvious question right away: you are not swimming in beer. Instead, the tub is filled with a proprietary blend of beer's natural ingredients — hops, malt, barley, and brewer's yeast.
Those ingredients aren't just for show. They're rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and the soak is designed to soften skin, relax tight muscles, and take the edge off a stressful week. As for the vibe: the water comes out warm, foamy, and tinted a soft green, with an aroma that leans citrusy and floral rather than anything resembling "stale beer." It's a surprisingly pleasant sensory experience from the moment you step in.
Unlimited Local Pints, Right at the Tub
True to our blog's name, this is the part that really won us over. Each private room comes with its own self-service tap system, positioned right next to the tub, so you can pour yourself a pint without ever leaving your soak.
Orlando Beer Spa partners with Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company for the on-tap lineup, including their Joyland American IPA and Park Hopp'r Golden Pilsner. You'll also find the Beach Blonde Ale from 3 Daughters Brewing out of St. Petersburg. If beer isn't your thing that day, wine, sangria, and Prosecco are available for an additional fee.
Your Private Suite Has More Than Just a Tub
The reservation gets you exclusive use of a full suite, and there's more packed in than we expected:
Infrared sauna a private sauna with chromotherapy lighting to help detoxify and further relax your muscles after the soak.
Hay lounge a genuinely unique "cooling corner" featuring a bed of hay with fresh sheets, meant to help regulate your body temperature at the end of the session.
Full privacy your own bathroom and shower, plus the option to plug your phone into the room's TV and sound system to set the mood however you like.
How to Structure Your 60 Minutes
The spa recommends a simple routine to get the most out of your session:
1. 30–40 minutes: Soak in the beer bath while sipping your pints and snacking.
2. 10–15 minutes: Move to the infrared sauna.
3. 10–15 minutes:Wind down on the hay bed to cool off before you head out.

A couple of tips before you go: don't shower right away. It's recommended you wait at least two hours after your soak to let the vitamins and enzymes fully absorb into your skin.
