Brotherton Brewery Closes Its Doors in Atco, NJ

After nearly five years in their Atco location, Brotherton Brewing Company officially closed its doors on March 30th. Housed in a former volunteer firehouse, the brewery had become a staple in the Waterford community, offering a spacious tasting room filled with charm, history, and plenty of good beer.

As with any brewery closure, the question arises—what’s next for the space? Brotherton has confirmed that while there’s interest in the property, no buyer has been locked in just yet. With the listing online since last summer, we’ll be keeping an eye on what’s to come.

For now, we raise a pint to the Brotherton team and the memories made within their walls. Cheers to what’s next for them!

Crime & Punishment Brewing in Philly Closing in April

Another loss to the local craft beer scene—Crime & Punishment Brewing on Girard Avenue has announced that they will be shutting down on April 12.

Opened in 2015, the small but mighty brewery helped revive Brewerytown’s long-dormant beer scene, cranking out over 500 batches from its 7-barrel brewhouse. Owner and brewer Mike Paul cited financial strain and exhaustion as key factors in the decision. After nearly a decade of unique and experimental beers, Crime & Punishment will be missed by many.

Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival Recap

The Atlantic City Beer & Music Festival returned for its 19th year, bringing together over 100 breweries and thousands of craft beer lovers at the AC Convention Center. While numbers were down this year—partly due to a reduction in sessions—over 7,000 attendees still came out to enjoy great beer, live music, games, and more.

With headliners Senses Fail (afternoon) and Me First & the Gimme Gimmes (night), plus a People’s Choice competition and the ever-popular Mystery BeerFest, the event was still a huge success. Here’s hoping next year brings even bigger crowds and another killer lineup of breweries.

Chimney Rustic Ales Expanding to Philly

Big moves are happening for Chimney Rustic Ales, as they recently announced plans to open Chimney Philly! The news came via Instagram, where they teased their new brewery buildout in Philadelphia.

It’s unclear whether they’ll maintain their original Hammonton location or move to Philly full-time. As soon as we have more details, we’ll share them. Either way, it’s exciting to see them expanding, and we can’t wait to check out the new spot.
